Growing up, what were you taught about God? By your parents, a pastor or a priest? Did they tell you He was a heavy-handed judge standing over you waiting for you to make a mistake? Did you imagine Him shaking His finger at you when you did anything wrong? That's what I was taught. Or were you taught that He was a kind and gentle old man who didn't like your sin but just shook his head at you and let you off with just a pat on the head So you don't think God cares about you too much. What we were taught about God as children has a huge impact on us. It affects our relationship with him as adults. Many kids today have no knowledge of God because their parents don't' believe in Him or their mindset is, “Let them decide for themselves.” But if no one gives them any knowledge of God at all, how can they make a decision? That is why parents need to teach their kids daily about God. The Bible says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
I will be talking about living a life for God and living life loving God whether you are a stay at home mom, a career man or woman or a grandma/grandpa. That may include a life lesson I have learned or a scripture God has brought to my attention. It may be something I have written in one of my books or something off the cuff God gave me while driving. I never know. I hope it will be twice a week but you know what life is like, it may get in the way. I hope you will enjoy the show.
Do you usually make a New Year's Resolution? Maybe try to exercise more or eat healthier? Get organized or make new friends? Or do you not bother because you know you won't keep it?
How about a spiritual resolution? Do you believe in God? Do you believe God can make your life better? The Bible says He can!
Jeremiah 29:11 says God has a plan for your life and He wants you to have a an abundant life! John 10:10 tells us Jesus came so that we can can have a full life. But it does require that you put God first in your life. Not your social media account, not your job, house or car but what God has planned for you.
How do you do that, you ask? I have a book called "Keep it Simple, Christian" that will give you some ideas. It will take less than 15 minutes a day to read and cost less than five dollars. I hope you will put God first in your life this year and make it the best one yet.
