First, Jude is wishing his love and blessings upon other Chistians who also follow God, which is what we should all be doing for all people. But God wants us to love other believers especially. He put us on this earth to love and support each other, pray for each other and take casseroles to those who need it.
And here are three specific ways you can defend your faith to frinds and family:
1. Make sure everyone knows you are a Christian.
When there in conversation wiwth co-workers or friends, don't lecture but say I believe . . . , I don't watch that because. . . , I prefer not to because . . . Speak with gentleness and respect, as the verse says. Speak the truth in love but make sure everyone around you knows who you aare. There may even be other Christians there that just may not have been brave enough to step out yet. And you may be the one who helps them do it.
2. Don't sit and say nothing while friends and family criticize you or others' Christianity.
God says be prepared to give an answer. So you should pray and ask God to help you know what to say. My family is not saved so I know that they do not have the same values as me. So I explain to them why I would do something differently than them. I would say, “The Bible says this . . .“ Or “God tells me to . . .”
3. Use the gifts that God has given you to help others.
Maybe one day someone you meet will need someone like you to help them. You might hear God's voice or prompt in your heart to help. Do you know what your gift is? My gift is writing and I love to write what God has taught me in my life and study of the Bible with you. I have written books to help others know about God's love for them. I am not perfect and neither are you. But we can help those who don't know about God or who are not yet mature Christians to be more mature and learn what He expects of us. In this way, you will be showing that you are obeying God in your life and helping others with God's help. When friends or family ask you what you are doing for God, you can truthfully tell them.

I leave you with Paul's wish for the Philippians, and my wish for you: “May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation, the right righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ, for this will bring much glory and praise to God.” Phil. 1:11
