Another theme in this chapter is goodness. The first instruction is for elders, especially those serving in church. It says, "love what is good." My first thought was , wow, there aren't many of those kind of men around. I've said before that I didn't have a great dad and unfortunately those are the majority these days. But if people loved goodness, most of the world's problems would be solved, right? After that the phrase "do what is good" is used FIVE times, that's every other paragraph. Those words are instruction to everyone, young and old.
So try to think about doing good this week, maybe a random act of kindness or just some extra patience with your kids or spouse. God bless you all.
