Looking up unwholesome in the dictionary, it said: not healthy for the physical or moral well-being. Well, that's quite obvious, isn't it? It's not good for the body or the mind to talk badly about others or yourself. When you say bad things about others you feel bad, maybe not right away because that's human nature, we say awful things to each other to make ourselves feel better. And we say bad things about ourselves because we are depressed and we don't know what to say to feel better. We are just in the mood to be sad and depressed and we don't know how to get out of it sometimes. It's called a pity party. I don't know about you but I'm usually stuck so bad it's like quick sand and it's a deep dark hole. And it's not as easy as most people think to get out of. We can't just 'snap out of it'.
But I'm asking you to turn to God right now and He will help you out of that pit and open your eyes. Go ahead, open them wide. Look up and imagine God is looking down at you from Heaven. Stretch your arms up over your head and thank Him for His Love. And ask Him to help you find some things about yourself that you like, write them down and repeat them to yourself this week often. “I am beautiful. I have great legs. I have a great voice. I have..”... Ask you friends or your husband, he'll tell you... Put notes up around the house or in your Bible.
