Thankfully, now the mortgage rate has adjusted down to a reasonable rate and we can breath a little easier. We have one less kid to feed since he went off to college and they have to feed him now. So I was walking out of the grocery store last week and was praising God because I was just so thankful that I wasn’t as full of stress as last year. I have most of my Christmas shopping done already which is unusual for me, since I always wait til the last minute. And I am done with college for the quarter. Whew!
So I also got to thinking about all the other things that could get better in a year. Someone with cancer can be in remission within a year. Someone who has been in rehab or drugs or for physical rehab could be improved within a year. A marriage could be reconciled, or deemed irreconcilable within a year. Grief can be lessened, (but not forgotten) in a year. There are many life situations which can be changed or improved within a year.
I want to encourage you to think to the future and thank God for His answers. I know it may seem like it is never ending now. It may seem hopeless and God is not there for you. Or God is not answering any of your prayers. But it may be that He is saying, “not now” or “I’ve got something better for you down the road.” I, too am waiting for an answer to prayer but it is not happening the way I envisioned. So I guess I have to wait for God. (sigh) And all of you know that is one of the hardest things to do because we all want control of our lives. But God is good and His way is best so I know waiting is the best thing to do. Amen?
